No to potholes, yes to cycleway

I see from today’s Press and Journal, that I am not the only one to have spotted the irony of dodging massive craters on the Cults to Kingswells Road, then turning the corner to see thousands of pounds of our money being spent to add a little width to the existing cycleway along Westhill Road!
I do appreciate that the money comes from a separate pot. But, nevertheless, there is the priority in funding when a perfectly adequate cycleway gets further work, while dangerous and damaging potholes remain untouched?
Road users in this country pay around £36 billion each year. From that, we are surely entitled to have safe, non-damaging and reasonably good quality roads?
It’s about time our transport planners undertook a reality check on their priorities for spending.
