Student lock in at shopping mall

Students can bag some style at Bon Accord & St Nicholas this September, as Aberdeen’s top shopping destination hosts its annual student lock-in event.

From 6.30pm until 9pm on Wednesday 25th September, students can take advantage of student-only access to the Bon Accord & St Nicholas centres*, with some serious shopping discounts from a variety of popular stores – including Topshop, River Island, Internacionale, Miss Selfridge and Aberdeen’s only stand-alone stores for Oasis and Warehouse.

The centres have teamed up with The Garage – the city’s hottest student bar and nightclub – which will have a pop up bar at the event offering discounts, freebies and hoodie vouchers.

A DJ will also be on hand to create a party atmosphere, along with local bands – The Little Kicks and Velvet Audio – who will be rocking the night away with guests.

Students are invited to kick start the academic year in style with an exclusive night of drinks, entertainment and giveaways including sampling on the evening from Lipton Ice, Nae Danger energy drink and Seabrook’s crisps.

Craig Stevenson, Centre Manager at Bon Accord & St Nicholas, said: “Last year’s student lock-in was a huge success and this year we want to make it bigger and better. This exciting event offers Aberdeen’s students the chance to take part in a unique shopping experience.

“With a range of top retailers offering one off excellent discounts, students can make huge savings on some big name brands. With the addition of live music and drinks, the student lock-in should definitely be in every student’s diary this Freshers’ Week.

“We have a pre-registration page on our website which allows students to register for the event and be entered into a prize draw, four lucky winners and four friends will win VIP entry into the store of their choice before anyone else on the night.”

“We look forward to opening our doors and putting on a great night.”

The event will run from 6.30pm until 9pm on Wednesday 25th September.
