Google reported interested in NE base

The Press and Journal is running a story today that Google is interested in using part of the former Inverurie Paper Mill as a Scottish green-powered data centre.

If the story is true then it is cheering news, especially at a time when traditional businesses are still tightening belts.

Virgin Balloon
The Virgin Balloon flies over the Inverurie Paper Mill site this morning. (It flies from Castle Fraser when operating in the North East.)

Google is one of the world’s best-known superbrands and, like Trump International Golf Links Scotland, a decision to locate in Aberdeen City and Shire would be significant beyond the direct economic benefit.
