How would you like to own the biggest
hole in Europe? Recently Rubislaw Quarry in Aberdeen has come on
the market, with an asking price of £30,000.
Rubislaw Quarry is the source of most of the granite in Aberdeen’s famous granite buildings. It has also been used on prestige project elsewhere, including London’s Waterloo Bridge and the terrace of the Houses of Parliament.
The quarry was closed in 1971 and is now filled with water.
Surprisingly, the agents report considerable interest in purchasing the former quarry.
